Research project

At the Institute of Cartography and Geoinformatics (IKG), Leibniz University Hannover, I conduct research under the supervision of Prof. Sester in the field of 3D/4D visualization and interaction of geodata.

Within the ProSaDi project, my research aims to enable visual and interactive access to provenance and collection data, and to develop geovisualization approaches for information and objects of different formats and contexts.

A central challenge lies in the heterogeneous structure of knowledge elements, which are organized differently and embedded in varying contextual frameworks. My work focuses on opening up these contexts interactively for users by providing suitable visualization metaphors. Another important aspect of my research is the visualization of non-knowledge, including knowledge gaps and uncertainty, in order to make these aspects explicitly visible and comprehensible.
