The applicability of AI-supported methodologies to provenance research will be investigated. The focus will be on the automated analysis of text corpora by extracting and structuring data for cross-referencing with existing data sets. This will be used to create provenance chains that take into account uncertainties and gaps in the data set. To this end, existing large language models will be used and their suitability for application in provenance research will be evaluated.
