Research Project
The part of the 3D digitization of cowrie shells and cultural belongings aims to identify suitable recording and visualization methods. Optimized application-oriented photogrammetric methods are used to create realistic 3D-models of cultural belongings. Applied AI-based analysis of the digital data support overarching research interests regarding the origin and trade of objects in space and time. Furthermore, the data enables international online access to cultural belongings making digitized objects available for a wide range of uses.
